About the Role
IGA Local Grocer Bowden is seeking an experienced Fresh Produce Supervisor to oversee the fresh produce area of our store. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring outstanding quality, presentation and freshness for our customers every day.
The role includes two open duty-manager shifts per week, supporting overall store operations.
We offer permanent part-time or full-time employment, with hours discussed based on the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the fresh produce area
- Maintain excellent presentation, quality, freshness, and stock rotation
- Manage ordering, inventory levels and waste reduction
- Lead, train and support team members
- Ensure food safety and workplace safety standards are upheld
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service
- Perform opening duty-management shifts (2 per week)
About You
We’re looking for someone with genuine passion for produce and customer service, who can take ownership of this key area of our store.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in fresh produce (mandatory)
- Strong understanding of quality, seasonality and handling
- Experience with ordering and stock control
- High attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Ability to lead and motivate team members
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Availability to work mornings, afternoons and weekends
- A positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic
