This is a fantastic chance to join a regional Council and play a key role in shaping its people and culture strategies.
Located in a stunning coastal region between Cairns and Townsville, it offers an affordable lifestyle, tropical climate, and access to the Great Barrier Reef. This position is based onsite, and it cannot be performed remotely or on a FIFO basis. Candidates not currently residing nearby will need to relocate.

About the role
As a HR Business Partner, you will work collaboratively with leaders and employees across the organisation to provide trusted advice, support, and practical HR solutions. You’ll assist with all aspects of the employment lifecycle and contribute to key people initiatives that strengthen capability, culture, and performance.
You’ll partner on workforce planning, engagement, and learning and development projects, while also supporting HR process improvements and system enhancements
Providing advice and guidance on HR and employee relations matters
Partnering with leaders on team design,
performance, and culture initiatives
Contributing to HR reporting, data analysis, and policy development
Leading or assisting with investigations and performance management processes
About you
TechnologyOne experience highly regarded
Prior Local Government or public sector experience will be highly regarded
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline
Demonstrated experience in a similar HR generalist or partnering role
Solid understanding of employment legislation, Awards, and industrial frameworks
Experience working with HRIS platforms and generating workforce insights
