About the Role:
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Medical Officer (SMO) – Rural Generalist to join the medical team at a leading public hospital in Rockhampton, Queensland.
This permanent position commences on 1 January 2026 and offers the chance to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care across a diverse rural and regional caseload. You’ll be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team providing a full spectrum of healthcare services, including emergency medicine, general inpatient care, and community outreach.

About You:
Relevant tertiary qualification and current registration
Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM (or working towards)
Excellent clinical and diagnostic skillsStrong communication and leadership abilities

Australian Permanent Residency or Australian or New Zealand citizenship required
