Where you’ll be working This is an exciting opportunity to join a major referral hospital for Northern Tasmania. With more than 330 beds, a modern ICU, and robust links to the University of Tasmania, the hospital provides high-quality care across a broad range of specialties including medicine, surgery, oncology, intensive care, and emergency services.
The ED is a 43-bed unit with over 45,000 annual presentations and a 30% admission rate, and is the referral centre for Northern Tasmania. You will see a high-acuity, broad-spectrum caseload, including a significant paediatric component, supported by all major specialties and an ICU with ECMO capability.
Emergency Medicine Consultants provide direct clinical supervision from 8am until midnight, seven days a week with an on-call service outside these hours. You will join a robust FACEM group with expertise in ultrasound, paediatrics, retrieval, international EM, medical education and leadership.
The unit has ACEM accreditation for 24 months of Emergency Registrar Training, including TS4 (late phase training).

Salary information Attractive salary package in excess of $400k with a range of benefits.
Requirements Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent Current registration with AHPRA or eligible for registration 4+ years of experience as an Emergency Medicine Specialist Demonstrated senior level experience, special interest or higher training in key subspecialty areas such as Research, Geriatrics, Mental Health, Paediatrics, Trauma or Toxicology.
