We are working with a highly regarded national not-for-profit organisation that seeks an exceptional Senior Legal Counsel to join their high-performing team.

The Chance The Senior Legal Counsel will play a critical role in providing strategic and commercially astute legal advice across the organisation, with particular focus on regulatory compliance, governance, and complex commercial matters.
You will work closely with senior executives and the Board to support key business initiatives and ensure the organisation's continued compliance with its regulatory obligations.
This role can be offered on a secondment or permanent basis, depending on the candidate, and offers a genuine pathway to a more senior position as the organisation continues to evolve.
Key Responsibilities Provide high-level legal and strategic advice on a range of corporate, regulatory, and commercial matters.
Support governance frameworks and regulatory compliance programmes, particularly in relation to APRA-regulated environments.
Advise the Board and executive team on key transactions, contracts, and risk management strategies.
Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements.
Interpret complex legislation and regulatory requirements with precision and insight.
Contribute to organisational policy development and corporate decision-making at the highest level.
About You A technically robust and well-considered lawyer with a background in M&A; or Banking & Finance, ideally gained in a top-tier or reputable mid-tier firm or in-house environment.
Robust knowledge of APRA regulatory frameworks and governance best practice.
Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and Boards.
A strategic thinker with the ability to interpret legislation in depth and provide clear, practical solutions.
