About the role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Female Disability Support Worker who can speak Hindi/ Gujrati/ Punjabi to join our team at Happy Health Pty Ltd in Oakleigh, VIC. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with diverse needs, enabling them to live independently and achieve their personal goals. This is a casual position, offering flexibility to fit your lifestyle.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
2. Assisting client with hoist for transfers (Manual Handling)
3. Inactive Sleepovers shifts on regular nights
4. Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events
5. Providing emotional support and encouraging clients to develop new skills and independence
6. Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records
7. Collaborating with the care team to implement and review individual support plans
8. Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
What we're looking for
1. A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to promoting their independence and wellbeing
2. Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), or equivalent experience
3.
Minimum of 1 year experience in disability support or related field is required
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
5. Patience, empathy, and a solution-focused approach to problem-solving
6. First aid certification and CPR
7. Must hold a valid NDIS worker screening check
8. Applicants must have Australian work rights with any valid work visa acceptable
