About the role
Queanbeyan Dental is seeking an experienced Dental Hygienist to join our friendly and welcoming team in Queanbeyan, NSW. In this part-time role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive oral health care to our patients, helping them maintain optimal dental health and hygiene. Our practice is newly renovated and our beautiful natural light filled rooms make a positive working environment with a young team to support you.
What you'll be doing
- Performing routine dental cleanings and scaling to remove plaque, tartar and stains from teeth
- Working with visiting colleagues on the supportive management of periodontal disease
- Applying sealants and fluoride treatments to protect teeth
- Educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and advising them on strategies to improve their dental health
- Taking dental x-rays and other diagnostic images as required
- Assisting the dentist with various procedures as needed
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
- Adhering to all health, safety and infection control standards
What we're looking for
- Dental Hygiene degree or diploma and current registration with the Dental Board of Australia
- Strong communication and patient education skills,
with the ability to explain complex dental procedures in a clear and empathetic manner
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Proficient in the use of dental equipment and technology
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
