Wind Farm Service Technician (Silverton)

Are you ready to elevate your career in renewable energy? Silverton Wind Farm located near Broken Hill in NSW generates up to 199 MW of renewable energy, powering over 98,000 homes annually with 58 GE 3.4‑130 turbines. You’ll be working at the forefront of renewable energy, maintaining and troubleshooting wind turbines at exciting and creative sites in the country. No two days are the same—you’ll climb turbines, solve real‑world technical challenges, and help keep Australia’s wind power turning.

Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructure
- Follow GE manuals, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks and inspections
- Conduct maintenance, fault‑finding, and high‑voltage switching operations as required
- Participate in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges, and fault‑finding
- Use GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queries
- Ensure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS policies, and report issues promptly
- Make a conformance or non‑conformance decision upon completion of inspections
- Report errors, violations, incidents,



or problems immediately using GE reporting systems
- Work a 37.5‑hour week with opportunities for overtime and on‑call rosters for after‑hours or weekend work as directed

Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies

- Qualified Electrician or a qualified Mechanic/Mechanical Fitter with electrical aptitude
- Proficient in fault‑finding (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment)
- Proficient with computer systems and tools for monitoring work and managing documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- A current unrestricted driver’s license
- Ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights, comfortable with heights
- A commitment to the highest safety standards, high performance, continuous improvement, and delivering the right solutions
- Independent, solutions‑focused, and well‑organized in managing tasks
- Open to travel to other sites as required
