About Our School

St Augustine’s College provides a robust P-12 Catholic education in the Augustinian tradition. Located in Augustine Heights, we are an inclusive, Catholic College offering a rounded education that supports the growth of each student. Summary

- Location: St Augustine’s College – Augustine Heights
- Start date: Commencing January 2026
- Work hours: 2 days per week (job share arrangement)
- Salary: $103,397 – $144,242 + super (commensurate with experience)
- Status: Part‑time Fixed Term / Variation (Until the end of 2026 school year)

About the Opportunity





- Facilitate proactive and preventative practices and initiatives for the holistic development, mental health and wellbeing of students
- Manage counselling and consulting services for students
- Provide psycho‑educational and other assessments
- Ensure BCE protocols and quality processes are implemented
- Maintain standards of practice
- Apply guidance counselling skills through direct and indirect processes and through systemic, whole‑school, and individual interventions
- Participate in regular individual and group supervision and mentoring activities for clinical and technical supervision

About You

- Successful experience as a Guidance Counsellor in an educational setting with a focus on prevention, intervention and student learning
- Experience in identifying and developing activities to address academic and life career development of students
- Experience in the administration, interpretation and report writing for psycho‑educational assessments
- Experience in providing support and leadership in response to student protection issues, critical incidents and risk management
- Collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic

Eligibility & Safeguarding Requirements





- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Full registration as a Teacher with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) plus completed Masters in school guidance and counselling, and/or
- Full registration as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
