Security Technician – Electronic Security & Communications

MiSolutions Group is looking for an experienced Security Technician who values precision, innovation, and quality workmanship to help deliver outstanding outcomes across education, government, and commercial projects.
You’ll be part of a tight-knit team that installs, commissions, and maintains cutting‑edge electronic security systems—including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, intercoms, and integrated communications—across some of QLD and NSW’s most interesting infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Security Technician, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality installations and support across a variety of commercial and government projects. Your day‑to‑day will include:
- Installing, commissioning, and servicing CCTV, access control, intrusion alarm, and intercom systems
- Working with leading security platforms and hardware in commercial and critical infrastructure environments
- Fault‑finding and rectifying issues on existing security and communications systems
- Interpreting and working from security layouts, schematics,
and project documentation
- Working collaboratively with other trades and MiSolutions team members on integrated electrical, security, and communications projects
- Ensuring compliance with WHS requirements, Australian Standards, and MiSolutions’ quality procedures
- Maintaining accurate job records and documentation through Simpro and other internal systems
- Consistently delivering a high standard of workmanship aligned with our core values
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience as a Security Technician or similar role in commercial and/or government environments
- Robust knowledge of CCTV, access control, alarms, and associated hardware
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and system documentation
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high‑quality work
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service
- Current driver’s licence and construction white card
Highly Regarded (But Not Essential)
- Experience with integrated security & communications systems
- Exposure to school, hospital, or government project environments
- Experience with networked / IP‑based security systems
- Experience with Simpro or similar job management platforms
- Open Cabling Licence (ACMA) and/or endorsements such as fibre, coax, or structured cabling
