Queensland Metals Glencore is currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor within our Mines Power Station department. Reporting to the MPS Superintendent, you will be required to effectively co‑ordinate and supervise a team of mechanical personnel carrying out maintenance, project and installation work within the Copper Smelter assets.
This is a Mount Isa residential position, and you will be required to work in accordance with a 4/3 12‑hour day roster.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that mechanical maintenance tasks are carried out in a protected and timely manner
- Management of your crews performance
- Manage shutdowns
- Ability to plan and control maintenance operations to optimise the use of all available resources
- Conduct regular compliance audits and workplace inspections
- The ability to build and maintain an effective team through coaching and personnel role modelling
Skills and attributes
- Minimum 5 years Trade experience
- Trade qualification – Mechanical fitter
- Ability to run contracting teams and manage small projects
- Previous experience with heavy industrial fixed plant maintenance
- S1, S2, S3 qualifications are preferred
- You will also be able to promote a constructive culture within your team
- You will have the ability to make decisions, work to deadlines, high level of work quality, exceptional communication skills and strive for continuous improvement
