The Opportunity
Our Innovation & Impact team champions the translation of research into real-world solutions. Working collaboratively with researchers, professional services, partners and communities, the team works to scale and accelerate measurable improvements in child health and wellbeing. We are now pleased to be growing our team, as our work and impact continue to expand.
The Head of Research Consulting will play a pivotal role in the implementation of the Research Reimagined strategy. Working closely with the Director, Innovation & Impact, this role will drive the strategic expansion and impact of the Institute’s contract research and evaluation capability. You will lead the development and implementation of a research consulting strategy, and grow a high performing team, to position the Institute as a national leader in research consulting.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement a strategy for research consulting services aligned with the Institute’s goal to deliver financially sustainable impact.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to embed research consulting as a highly valued practice across research themes.
- Proactively build relationships with government agencies, NGOs, industry, and other external stakeholders.
- Develop a pipeline of high impact work to enable the growth and development of a high-quality team.
Conveniently based in our modern offices within Perth Children’s Hospital,
this full-time role will be offered on an ongoing basis. Part-time will be considered for the right candidate.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification (preferably a higher degree) in a relevant discipline such as public health, psychology, or health sciences. Along with this, you will demonstrate:
- Proven leadership in research consulting, evaluation, or contract research.
- Strong strategic thinking and business development capability.
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Ability to lead teams and manage complex projects in dynamic environments.
- Experience in government procurement processes and tender compliance frameworks, including familiarity with Australian public sector contracting requirements is advantageous.
