Position Information
Hunters Hill Public School is located on the lower north shore of Sydney with an enrolment of approximately 230 students. 39.3% of students have a language background other than English. The school focuses on evidence‑based best practice, collaboration, data‑driven decision making and high expectations. In 2026 an Autism Support Class will be established.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach special education and experience teaching students with diverse needs including autism and intellectual disability. Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain and review differentiated Individual Education Plans that foster high expectations and promote student engagement.
- Proven ability to develop, maintain and review differentiated Behaviour Support Plans and implement highly developed classroom management strategies that are flexible and adaptive to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with staff, students, families, and external support teams, fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Demonstrated commitment to engagement in and contribution to school‑wide events and extra‑curricular activities.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching prospect.
