As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will play a vital role in ensuring the productive operation and maintenance of Mount Gravatt State High School's facilities and grounds. You will perform a variety of routine tasks independently while receiving supervision for non‑routine duties. This role does not require tasks or repairs that would normally need a qualified tradesperson and reports directly to the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate.
Progressional position : The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next classification once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Salary rates shown are reflective of both classification ranges.

About the Role
Mount Gravatt State High School is seeking a dedicated Schools Officer (Grounds and Facilities) to contribute to the efficient operation and maintenance of the school's facilities and grounds. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and maintaining school facilities, including setting up classrooms and halls for activities and events.
- Performing general groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, watering, planting, weeding, and maintaining sports fields and gardens.
- Assisting with minor cleaning and waste collection duties, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
- Conducting basic maintenance and repairs to school furniture, equipment, and facilities.
- Supporting school events, managing supplies, and maintaining accurate records of school assets.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in groundskeeping or facilities maintenance.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and follow set instructions.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with staff, students, and external personnel.
