We are looking for a self‑motivated, committed Dietitian to provide a quality dietetic service to the Ipswich and East Suffolk population. Being a key player you will work with both adults and children managing a caseload of nutritionally vulnerable adults and children within the inpatient and outpatient settings, including but not restricted to the acute hospital, outpatients and community settings.

Your caseload will include mental health patients and those with disordered eating. You will benefit from working with other specialist dietitians as well as being responsible for day‑to‑day supervision of assistant practitioners.

A range of skills are required for this post, including excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a busy workload. You should be someone who enjoys working within a team and is eager to provide support to others.

The Team consists of 26 Dietitians with 6 Dietetic Support Staff providing a service to both acute and community settings.

Supported by secretarial and administrative staff you will have access to regular supervision and opportunities to undertake continuing professional development through work shadowing, tutorials and courses as identified by your training needs and objectives.

We are a well‑recognised department for student training in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire.

The trust is also committed with AHP research and has recently gained resource to support this within the trust.

- To manage a caseload of patients including those with complex needs in a range of settings using evidence‑based, client‑centred principles to assess, plan and evaluate specialised dietetic interventions.
- To undertake nutritional assessments within paediatrics, taking into consideration biochemistry, anthropometrics, growth, clinical condition and dietary intake.
- To work with patients and carers to identify nutrition‑related goals as part of an overall care plan.
- To plan,



implement and evaluate interventions in partnership with patients and carers using a range of treatment techniques to meet individuals' nutritional requirements.
- To participate in patient care meetings to ensure that dietetic outcomes influence any decision regarding overall care plan.
- To provide support, education and advice to patients and carers regarding aspects of diet therapy e.g. dietary modification, food fortification, nutritional supplementation, enteral nutrition.
