About the Derwent Tavern and Vantage Group
Derwent Tavern is a part of the Vantage Group operating across Tasmania through community-based hotels, employing over 400 people state-wide. The Vantage Group comprises 12 venues around Tasmania, which provide a combination of bar, gaming, bistro, accommodation, and entertainment services to our customers. What you can expect in a day in the role
Get ready for a fun and dynamic role! As a food and Beverage attendant, you will be pouring delicious drinks for our guests, engaging with our gaming patrons by answering their questions, ensuring they're having a excellent time, and delivering fantastic customer service to all of our guests.
To succeed in this position, you will:
- Exceptional customer service skills, preferably gained from previous experience working in gaming/hospitality.
- Reliability and the flexibility to work a variety of night and weekend shifts, which may include public holidays.
- A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate and a current Responsible Conduct of Gaming (RCG) Certificate.
What you’ll bring to the role
We’re looking for someone with a great attitude, initiative, and a team player mindset, as well as:
- Demonstrated cash handling proficiency
- Knowledge of all gaming machine regulations, compliance, operations, and procedures
- An understanding of food & beverage products and services
- A professional & mature “can do” attitude with the ability to work autonomously
- Current Responsible Service of Gaming Certificate (RSG)
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA)
- Keno Writer & Gaming Machine Attendant or Senior Keno Writer and Gaming Machine Supervisor Certificates and TAB would be advantageous
Please note that to be successful in this role, you need to be able to work a variety of night and weekend shifts, which may include public holidays.
A successful candidate in this role may be subject to pre-employment and ongoing screening checks.
