Team Member Parks – Tuncurry

MidCoast Council is seeking a full‑time Team Member for the Tuncurry depot. The role supports Council work programmes across sports fields, parks, cemeteries, reserves and other community spaces. You will work within a small crew to maintain and clean BBQs, picnic facilities and amenities, and to construct, maintain and install open‑space assets such as playgrounds, picnic tables, benches and retaining walls.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and clean park facilities, including BBQs and picnic areas.
- Operate horticultural equipment (ride‑on lawn mowers, tractors, brush cutters).
- Construct, maintain and install open‑space assets such as playgrounds, picnic tables, benches and retaining walls.
- Adhere to safe working practices and health‑safety procedures.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of parks and reserves maintenance.
- Experience operating horticultural plant and equipment.
- Completed WorkCover accredited WHS general induction for construction work in NSW.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence (P1 minimum).
- First Aid Certificate and AQF Level 3 Chemical Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Requires pre‑employment medical check (drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component).

Salary & Benefits

Gross salary: $55,918 p.a. + superannuation. Permanent full‑time position,



38 hours per week, 6:30 am – 3:30 pm. Will be rostered fortnightly with a day off. Base location: MidCoast Council Depot, Grey Gum Road, Tuncurry – with travel to other Council sites across the region.
