Teacher Corrections - Casual Hospitality Teacher at Kangan Institute

✨ Join our education team at Loddon and Tarrengower Prisons and help learners acquire practical hospitality skills for rehabilitation and future employment.

About the Role

- Location: Loddon and Tarrengower Prisons
- Role Type: Casual
- Hourly Rate: $87.45 - $94.47 per hour (dependent on qualifications and teaching experience)

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging, accredited hospitality training aligned with current service standards and food safety regulations.
- Support learners to develop practical skills in customer service, food & beverage operations, hygiene and workplace safety.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments and compliance documentation.
- Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learner needs and backgrounds.
- Work collaboratively with a supportive team committed to rehabilitation through education and vocational training.

What We’re Looking For

- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40110 / TAE40116 / TAE40122) or willingness to enrol.
- Relevant and current experience in hospitality, barista and cookery operations (front‑of‑house, food and beverage service, or related areas).
- Experience delivering training in adult education or vocational settings (preferred but not essential).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a correctional environment.
- A commitment to safety, inclusion and learner success.
