Insolvency & Restructuring Senior Accountant
About the Opportunity
Are you looking to progress your career in insolvency and restructuring?
We’re growing and looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. You’ll have personalised mentoring and coaching and the opportunity to continually learn, develop and progress your career with significant opportunities for career progression based on merit, skills and interests.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on interesting projects, learning insolvency and restructuring skills on a variety of matters and types of matters. You’ll also have opportunities to share your technical knowledge and coach our more junior team members, celebrating their development with them.
Working with our two Principals, Senior Director, Senior Manager and Managers, you’ll have ownership of your own matters while being supported by a Manager, and collaborate on larger and more complex matters, delivering work with excellence, integrity and a strong work ethic.
This is a full time role and you can be based anywhere in Australia. We embrace hybrid work – most of us enjoy being in the office with our colleagues about 2‑3 days a week, and working from home about 2‑3 days a week. We presently have offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, but if you’re elsewhere, we’ll get you an office space (if you’d like one) too!
What to Expect

- Work on interesting projects, with a variety of matters & types of matters – corporate, personal, liquidations, voluntary administrations, bankruptcies, small business restructurings, receiverships, agent for mortgagee in possession appointments, Part X’s, advisory etc of various sizes
- Ownership and day‑to‑day management of smaller to medium appointments while being supported by a Manager, delivering the requirements for that insolvency or restructuring matter, including investigations and reports to creditors, and keeping the Manager updated
- Active involvement in larger and/or more complex matters, working directly with the Manager and/or Principal, including the conduct of more complex investigations and financial analysis,
assistance with public examinations, recoveries and litigation etc
- Good proactive management of your workflow and priorities across multiple client matters
- Communicating directly with external stakeholders, supported by the Manager if/when needed

Required for this position
- Approximately 2 to 3+ years of professional insolvency and/or restructuring experience in Australia
- A tertiary qualification in accounting or a related area
- Commenced or completed your CA / CPA
- Strong insolvency technical knowledge
- The ability to work autonomously and in a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Enthusiasm about your work
- The ability to learn quickly
Highly regarded but not mandatory
- Experience with all types of corporate and personal insolvency and restructuring matters, as long as you’re willing to learn to conduct these
- An interest to complete or completion of the ARITA Advanced Certification
- Proficiency with Insol6
