The Role

The Coordinator Financial Accounting and Recovery will be responsible for assisting with the effective oversight of Council’s financial accounting operations, including statutory financial reporting, asset accounting and working collaboratively across the organisation to ensure high quality financial deliverables. The role is also responsible for leading the effective management of Council Debt including monthly and quarterly reporting on outstanding Council debt and ensuring compliance with Council’s Debt Management policy across the organisation.

This role ensures compliance with accounting standards and legislative requirements, supports sound financial decision-making, and contributes to the organisation’s financial sustainability through robust debt recovery practices and continuous process improvement.

About you





You are an organised and detail-driven finance professional who brings a strong knowledge of financial accounting principles including statutory reporting requirements, external audit, asset capitalisation and debt recovery processes.

You have the ability to interpret data, resolve discrepancies, and provide clear and accurate advice.

Your communication style is confident with an ability to maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

You take ownership of your work, manage competing priorities effectively, and are committed to delivering high-quality financial outcomes that support sound decision-making and organisation compliance.
