Renumeration pro rata:

MP Year 1– Year 3 $377,207 - $401,095 per annum*

- (Salary is inclusive of base salary under Arrangement A, 12% employer contributed superannuation, and professional development allowance $34,696).

This is a straight vacancy to fill various appointments (Full Time, Part Time or Sessional), with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

The South-West currently has positions available for immediate start with opportunities for Senior Medical Practitioners who work in General Medicine.

Join our dynamic and expanding team at Busselton Health Campus, where exciting opportunities await for a Senior Medical Practitioner in the General Ward.

As a Senior Medical Practitioner in the General Medical Ward, you will operate as an autonomous senior decision-maker, working in close partnership with the Senior Clinical Lead and the Director of Medical Services – Coastal.

In this dynamic position, you will take charge of patient care, offering expert guidance on complex clinical decisions and responding decisively to significant changes in patient conditions. Your primary focus will be the assessment, management, and ongoing care of patients admitted to the General Ward, where you’ll collaborate closely with nursing teams to ensure seamless, high-quality care delivery.

Beyond clinical duties, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement through data collection and quality initiatives. You’ll also be a mentor and educator, providing leadership, supervision, and training to Doctors in Training in consultation with Specialists and Senior Staff —helping shape the next generation of medical professionals.

Ideal Candidates Will

- Have unconditional General and/or Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Bring substantial experience in general medical ward settings
- Have a strong background at Registrar level in Australian hospitals
- Your ability to communicate effectively and thrive in a close-knit multidisciplinary environment will be key to your success
- A current C or C‑A class driver’s licence and willingness to travel are essential
