- Remuneration of $129,464 – $142,665 plus super & leave loading.

About the Business Functional Area

The People Data and Analytics function is responsible for the analysis of people data across the Department, uncovering valuable insights on our workforce and programs and using this knowledge to continually drive improvement initiatives.

About the Role

The Lead Data Analyst will manage and develop new and creative ways of driving system‑wide improvement through data processes, contemporary analytics methods and system improvement. The role supports the review and analysis of the organisation’s people data, services, processes and information to identify and implement changes that lead to business improvements, improved data quality and analytics capabilities.

About You

- Strong skills in preparing and maintaining thorough documentation to ensure analytical processes are transparent, accessible and replicable.
- Ability to source, collate and compile data into explicit, user‑friendly formats to support informed decision‑making at the programme level.
- A solid understanding of programme data requirements and capability to produce data products that meet customer needs.
- Experience in leading,



managing and supporting a small team of data analysts to achieve programme goals.
- Proficiency in quantitative data analysis and in preparing reports that assist with the development, implementation and review of programme performance.

Essential Requirements Of The Role

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience.

Key Knowledge And Experience

- Experience in utilising current data analysis methods, tools and techniques to generate meaningful and actionable insights.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre‑employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates not currently employed by the Department must provide a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance number. Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non‑child‑related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
