Your Opportunity

- Lead a group of specialty senior medical clinicians to provide expert medical advice, leadership, and management for cancer services across SNSWLHD.
- Provide high‑level, strategic clinical advice to the LHD Board, Executive, Senior Managers, and clinicians.
- Collaborate with LHD managers and clinicians to develop, implement, and evaluate patient safety and quality programmes across the District, including clinical policy guidance and incident management.
- Provide coaching and mentoring support for clinicians and teams,



including site visits and virtual support.
- Participate actively in the LHD Clinical Council and contribute to strategy for improving local, LHD, and NSW Cancer Institute performance and patient outcomes.
- Support service development and workforce planning, collaborating with other medical leaders in SNSWLHD and neighbouring LHDs, including ACT Health.
- Coordinate medical education, training, and research, leading the development of processes and resources for enrolling patients into clinical trials and building relationships with tertiary trial units.
- Deliver high quality, evidence‑based, patient‑focused oncology services to patients with solid tumours, primarily at Bega Hospital and, when required, providing outreach across the District.

Selection Criteria

- Current registration as a Medical Specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- FRACP with subspecialty training and experience in medical oncology.
- Experience in clinical leadership and management, with a demonstrated ability to work with local clinical teams to lead and support development.
- Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive, high‑quality, compassionate oncology services and patient care.




- Experience in actively improving service delivery, initiating change, and consulting with impacted stakeholders, including conflict management.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, consultation, and negotiation skills for building collaborative relationships.
- Commitment to clinical research, including experience in clinical trials.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to drive/travel long distances and overnight stays as required.

This is a Category ‘A’ position. All new employees must comply with NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. OASV requirements include proof of influenza vaccination, compulsory for NSW Staff entering any Residential Aged Care Facility or working in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
