We are looking for an cutting-edge, self‑motivated Dietitian to take up a post working with children and adolescents with Diabetes. You will have excellent clinical skills and a broad knowledge of Diabetes with previous experience of working with these age groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist input as an integral part of the Multidisciplinary Team at the Diabetes Centre.
- Contribute to the dietetic service for paediatric diabetes, including developing structured education in conjunction with the paediatric diabetes specialist nurses.
- Provide highly specialised clinical assessments and treatment to a complex caseload of children and young people with Diabetes in a variety of settings.
- Work autonomously and deliver high quality, evidence‑based dietetic service to paediatric patients with Type 1 diabetes requiring nutritional intervention.
- Adjust insulin doses according to dietary intake and other relevant factors, as described in the Ipswich Hospital Protocol for adjustment of insulin in children and young people 0–18 years.
- Provide specialist input to the Diabetes Multi‑disciplinary Team by contributing to the strategic development of the Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes service, achievement of the Best Practice Tariff criteria and training of other health professionals.

- Band 6 developmental to Band 7.
- Team includes 26 Dietitians, 8 Dietetic Technicians/Assistants, and administrative staff across acute and community sectors.
- Recognised department for student training in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire, with high priority given to continuing professional development.
