Chinchilla State School is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and innovative educational leader to join our school as the Deputy Principal in 2026. This role will play a pivotal part in strengthening whole-school approaches to student engagement, behaviour, and inclusion. The successful applicant will lead teams in implementing evidence-based initiatives that enhance student participation, support positive learning environments, and support teachers in the teaching and learning planning cycle. As a key member of the leadership team, the Deputy Principal will collaborate closely with staff, students, and families to improve student outcomes.

Chinchilla State School is a learning community with approximately 460 students and 60 dedicated staff, taking great pride in the diversity that enriches our school. About The Role

As the Deputy Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Lead whole-school initiatives that strengthen student engagement and work collaboratively with year-level teams to implement engagement strategies and early intervention processes.
- Lead the implementation and refinement of the school's PBL framework and support staff to embed effective classroom practices, consistent routines, and preventative behaviour strategies.
- Provide leadership in curriculum development and evidence-based pedagogical practice across the school.




- Lead curriculum planning processes and pedagogy implementation that supports high-quality teaching and learning environments.
- Contribute to whole-school leadership responsibilities and assist the Principal with strategic planning and daily operations as required.

Capabilities and Attributes We Are Looking For

- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and build a culture of high expectations and collaboration.
- Robust understanding of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices.
- Proven capacity to lead PBL and behaviour frameworks effectively.
- Skilled in analysing data to drive school improvement.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
