Ellenbrook Christian College (ECC), a thriving Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 school in Perth’s northeast corridor, provides Christ-centred education that nurtures the spiritual, academic, emotional, and social growth of every student. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Education Assistant to join our supportive Learning Support team from the beginning of Term 1, 2026. In this role, you will work closely with students particularly those with disabilities and learning difficulties and collaborate with teachers to ensure every young person is known, supported, and empowered to reach their God-given potential.
This is not just a role; it’s a sacred opportunity to nurture young hearts and minds. You’ll assist with grace and conviction, sowing seeds of faith and learning that will shape lives for eternity.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Support teachers and students within the Secondary School, particularly those with disabilities, learning difficulties, or diverse learning needs.
- Work with students individually or in small groups to promote engagement, confidence, and academic progress.
- Use strong written and verbal communication to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and the Learning Support team.
- Assist with student-specific needs and classroom situations, ensuring safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environments.
- Use technology competently to assist learning and support classroom operations.
- Understand and uphold the biblical foundations of Christian education and actively model the College’s values and ethos.
- Participate in the spiritual, academic, sporting, cultural, and social life of the College.
- Follow all College and SCEA policies and procedures.
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- A personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and active involvement in a Christian church.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with students and staff.
- A commitment to ongoing professional learning and personal growth.
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one).
- Current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain one).
Desirable:
(Include where appropriate in your response)
- Certificate III or IV in Education Support.
- Knowledge and experience in intervention practices.
- Understanding of NCCD processes and data collection.
