About the Role
The JBS Pork Australia is currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our busy Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. Our conditions of employment are one of the best in the industry!
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducts tests of mechanical systems, collects and analyses data, and assembles and installs mechanical assemblies in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.
- Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
- Engaging in fabrication, installation and repair of mechanical machines, instruments or appliances
- Ensuring that all work is carried out to the Company and requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
- Utilising fault-finding to troubleshoot and rectify problems
Qualified Mechanical Engineering Technician:
- Previous experience in a rapid-paced industrial manufacturing environment
- Previous experience within the meat industry advantageous
- Sound knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, as well as a basic knowledge of electrics and welding skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated continuous improvement approach
- Ability to support a broad variety of mechanical work
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
- Ability to work various shifts
- Full Australian working rights
