Job Title: Support Worker – Mental Health & Behaviour Support
Location: Penrith, The Hills, and Miranda, NSW
Type: Permanent Part-Time or Casual (16–24 hrs per week)
About the Role:
We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in providing quality care and meaningful support to individuals living with mental health conditions and behaviors of concern.
In this role, you’ll work closely with clients to empower them to achieve greater independence, improve daily living skills, and participate more fully in the community.
Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of experience providing care for individuals with mental health conditions.
We are specifically seeking candidates experienced in supporting clients with:
- Schizophrenia
- Borderline Personality Disorder
- Bipolar Disorder
- Autism
- Intellectual Disability
- Behaviors of Concern
Note: Candidates whose primary experience is limited to Dementia, general Depression, or Anxiety will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to clients with mental health needs and behaviors of concern
- Implement individual care and behavior support plans
- Support clients in building daily living skills, personal development, and social inclusion
- Monitor and document client progress and incidents accurately
- Collaborate with families,
therapists, and other care professionals to ensure holistic support
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for all clients
What We’re Looking For:
- Certificate IV in Community Services (or equivalent qualification) — Diploma in Psychology or related field is highly regarded
- Minimum 1 year experience supporting clients with mental health conditions listed above
- Understanding of person-centered and trauma-informed care approaches
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid and CPR certification
