Hours: Part time 15.2 - 22.8 hours per week (0.4 – 0.6 FTE),
Salary: $86,485 - $105,325 per annum (pro rata) plus superannuation
The prospect:
We are seeking a part-time Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) to support research improving early detection and management of musculoskeletal conditions in children with cerebral palsy (CP). The role focuses on implementing the AusCP-MSK project at the Royal Childrens Hospital—a major multi-site study investigating early biomarkers and progression of hip displacement, scoliosis, and skeletal fragility.
You will assist with participant recruitment, coordination of study visits, data collection and entry, and engagement with children and families. The role also supports a knowledge translation project implementing an evidence-based hip surveillance model across Victoria. You will work within the RCH Orthopaedic Department alongside a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and researchers.
What you’ll do
Coordinate participant recruitment, study visits, and high-quality data collection
Engage and support participants and families
Maintain accurate records and follow study protocols, SOPs, and GCP/ICH guidelines
Assist with data preparation for research outputs
Collaborate with internal and external project stakeholders
Contribute to qualitative and knowledge translation activities
What you’ll bring
Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy or related discipline
Relevant clinical experience and research skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience working with children with neurodisability,
including functional assessments
High attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills
Experience with REDCap, EPIC EMR, or Stata (desirable)
