At Canberra Metro operations (CMET), we proudly operate and maintain the iconic Canberra light rail network – a landmark ACT Government project. As part of our landscaping team, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the beauty, safety, and sustainability of this important transport corridor.
About the Role
As part of our Landscape Maintenance team, you’ll:
- Carry out preventative landscaping activities such as weeding, planting, watering, herbicide application, mulching, pruning, and mowing.
- Perform corrective maintenance including removing and reinstating damaged landscaping.
- Follow daily schedules to deliver agreed maintenance outcomes.
- Operate vehicles, plant, tools, and equipment (including irrigation and shadow vehicles).
- Install, maintain, or repair fixtures and equipment (including ladder work).
- Complete work orders under the guidance of the Landscape Supervisor.
- Always work safely, following CMET’s railway and traffic management procedures.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring:
- Previous experience in landscaping and/or horticulture.
- Certificate III (or higher) in Parks and Gardens, Landscaping, Greenkeeping, or equivalent.
- White Card, Asbestos Awareness,
and Crystalline Silica training.
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
- (Desirable) ChemCert AQF-3 qualification and/or Traffic Controller certification.
