We’re looking for a cook who is confident and experienced in cooking meats over both chargrill and charcoal. SOMMA Modern Greek uses a premium grill setup, and we need someone who understands heat control, consistency, and timing. This role is suited to someone who takes pride in cooking meat properly and can deliver the same result every time, even during a busy service.
Key Responsibilities
- Cooking meats over chargrill and charcoal to precise temperatures
- Managing coal levels, grill zones, and heat distribution
- Preparing and portioning meats during prep
- Monitoring cook levels (rare, medium-rare, etc.) with accuracy
- Maintaining a clean, organised grill section
- Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Following SOMMA’s plating and flavour standards
What We’re Looking For
- Robust experience with chargrill, charcoal, or open-flame cooking
- Confident understanding of meat temperatures and consistency
- Good timing and the ability to manage multiple orders at once
- Someone who stays calm and organised in a rapid-paced environment
- A clean, professional work style
- Pride in presentation and quality

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual, Permanent
Pay: $53,134.39 – $77,145.86 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
