We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to menu development. The role requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Plan and design menus, including seasonal and specialty items.
- Monitor portion control, food presentation, and quality consistency.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen hands.
- Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared following food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ordering of supplies.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment at all times.
- Assist in cost control, waste reduction, and efficient kitchen operations.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Comply with WHS (Work Health and Safety) requirements and organisational policies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and menu planning.
- Understanding of food safety requirements (Food Safety Supervisor preferred).
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work under pressure.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Job Type: Full time
Pay: $78,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
