Position Overview
We are currently seeking a male support worker with an African background to support one of our participants during weekly community access near Carlingford area.
About the Role:
The support worker will be required to:
- Accompany and support the participant during soccer sessions every Friday
- Provide encouragement, safety supervision, and social engagement
- Assist with transport
- Maintain a positive, friendly, and culturally sensitive approach
- Follow organisational policies and uphold professional boundaries
Requirements:
- Previous experience in disability or community services (preferred)
- Valid WWCC, Police Check, and First Aid/CPR
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (desirable)
- Ability to build rapport and encourage participation
- Must be available every Friday from 1 PM to 5 PM

Key Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications:
Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Community Services, or equivalent (or relevant experience).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Worker Screening Check or Willingness to obtain
- Current Driver’s License and reliable transportation required
- Medical background or Nursing background preferred
- Willing to travel
- Must be available Wednesday to Sunday
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working with individuals with physical, intellectual, or sensory disabilities.
Knowledge of relevant disability legislation, NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme),
and best practices in disability care.
Additional certifications in mental health, behavioral support, or other related areas are advantageous.
About the clients:
Client is an elderly female Filipino who doesn't speak English, need somebody with good driving skills and wheelchair experience to assist.
