DO YOU HAVE BIG LOVE FOR LITTLE PEOPLE?
BE A PART OF THE CHILDMINDING CO.

The Childminding Co. are a professional childminding agency, servicing Rockhampton, Gladstone and surrounding areas. We are currently searching for an enthusiastic, dependable, and responsible Group Childminder/Program Facilitator to join our team.

This is a fun and dynamic role that offers plenty of variety.

Some days, you’ll be part of a small team caring for and entertaining small groups of children while their parents attend weddings, workshops, or other special events. You’ll work within small ratios (1:4 or max 1:5 depending on ages) alongside other experienced childminders.

On other days, particularly school holidays, you'll help run our popular craft and activity programs at shopping centres, holiday accommodations, and community events. These sessions are often parent-assisted - no formal childminding required, and involve helping children create fun, themed crafts and activities.

This role is perfect for someone who:

- Is studying, working casually, or looking for flexible extra hours
- Enjoys working with children in a creative, hands-on environment
- Can be adaptable to different venues, age groups, and group environments

The right candidate will also have the option to join our babysitting team if desired.

Base rate: $31.23 per hour

Saturday and evening rate: $36.22 per hour

Plus super and allowances - contracting options also available.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

You’ll need these qualifications (or be willing to get them!):

- Aged over 18 years
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Working with Children Check/Blue Card (QLD)
- Current driver’s licence with own reliable vehicle

- A minimum of one year of relevant child related experience, with references
- Whooping cough vaccination

An ideal childminder is:

- Knowledgeable on what’s required to ensure a child’s physical and emotional wellbeing and has the ability to meet these needs
- An excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills and can form and maintain relationships quickly
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional, reliable and works well under pressure
- Fun, creative and engaging
- Neatly presented

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

Group childminders can expect to be responsible for:

- Ensuring the physical and emotional wellbeing of small groups of children
- Entertaining children with a range of provided materials and resources
- Feeding provided meals
- Set-up and pack-down of play spaces
- Maintaining healthy and protected practices
- Communicating with and reporting to parents/caregivers, other childminders and staff
- Some bookings may require travel to other Central Queensland locations and remote event venues with travel allowances paid.
