Assistant Manager | Blackburn Hotel
We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Blackburn Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals. If you're an Energetic, customer focused superstar that loves people, loves thriving in a fast paced environment and truly enjoys creating outstanding experiences for guests then we are your current work home!
A pillar in Melbourne's east, the Blackburn Hotel has everything you could ever want or need in your favourite local. Just a few minutes walk from Blackburn train station and a five minute drive from Box Hill's central shopping strip, we're in the perfect position for locals and visitors alike.
A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:
- Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
- Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
- Take pride in your presentation and professionalism leading from the front
- Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
- Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift over a mix of days, nights, weekends, opens, mids and closing shifts
Inherent requirements:
- This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
About you:
- You want to have fund at work
- You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block,
and maybe already done some supervising and want to grow your career in a supportive venue
- You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
- You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
- You’ve got a current RSA, RSG Modules and Victorian Gaming Licence as per state requirements
