The Opportunity
The Reliability Manager leads the plant’s reliability and planning function to ensure optimised equipment availability with considerations to safety, quality and cost. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the role manages a team of Maintenance Planners/Schedulers, as well as Reliability Engineers, to deliver a proactive data-driven maintenance program that supports operations in our Carole Park site.
What you’ll do
- Lead and develop the planning/scheduling team to deliver effective maintenance plans that minimise downtime and cost while maximising resource utilisation.
- Manage the reliability engineering team to implement equipment reliability improvements, downtime RCA’s, and predictive maintenance initiatives rooted in Lean Manufacturing principles
- Oversee the development of preventative maintenance strategies for critical assets
- Monitor and optimise work management processes including work order health, backlog management, labour utilisation, and machine downtime and uptime maintenance schedules
- Drive data-driven continuous improvement projects to reduce unplanned failures, extend asset life, and limit maintenance spend
- Collaborate closely with the Production and Finishing departments to align reliability priorities with operational requirements
- Liaese with external contractors and suppliers to ensure the site is receiving high quality services and competitive rates
- Write and justify Capital Project requests where required
- Ensure all maintenance and reliability activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Provide technical guidance and support to the Operational, Mechanical and Electrical teams
- Continue to develop the maintenance SOPs and training platform
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical) or related field (preferred)
- Atleast 5 years in maintenance or reliability roles in a manufacturing environment or similar
- Strong leadership and team management
- Proven experience leading maintenance teams or projects
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication across technical and operational teams
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) and reliability tools (RCM, FMEA, RCA)
- Proficiency in SAP or other maintenance work order or inventory management software such as CMMS systems, Maximo, MEX, etc
- Knowledgeable in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
