The Role: Reporting to the Operations Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Fitter is responsible for maintenance, fabrication, and installation work across Coregas NSW branches. You’ll ensure the secure and efficient operation of production plant and distribution equipment, maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards, and support business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, fabrication, and installation tasks as directed at Yennora, Wollongong, Ace Cryogenic, and Newcastle branches.
- Monitor, maintain, and repair production equipment in accordance with the MEX maintenance planning system, including isolation and return of plant and equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve issues promptly.
- Complete all paperwork and administrative tasks required for maintenance and quality control.
- Maintain spares inventory, prepare equipment,
and organise dispatch of spares to branches.
- Raise purchase orders for parts and spares as required.
- Issue work permits for non-routine maintenance tasks and ensure compliance with Coregas HSE policies and Golden Safety Rules.
- Participate in monthly workshop housekeeping and Tool Box meetings.
- Report risks, hazards, incidents, accidents, and near misses.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental management requirements.
- Occasionally travel to other Coregas branches for maintenance or project tasks.
Candidates are required to hold relevant trade qualifications and at least 3+ years of experience performing Mechanical Engineering Technician duties within the gas or similar industry.
