Overview.
Komatsu (Joy Global Australia) are on the hunt for a mechanical service technician to support our customer in the Lithgow region. You’ll be the on-site expert for all things Joy continuous miners and development equipment. Don’t worry, first we ensure you’re ready by providing you an extensive onboarding program and classroom-based product training at our training centre of excellence.
Joining the Komatsu’s service team means you’ll be entitled to:
- Full time Monday to Friday permanent position.

You'll bring:
- Mechanical Trade Qualification.
- Qualifications and experience in Hydraulics.
- Experience working underground with development & continuous mining equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work in an autonomous role.
Key job responsibilities:
- Provide customers with pro-active advice and support
- Facilitate flawless start-up of development machines.
- Support engineering and be directly involved with machine commissioning.
- Provide advanced technical support for development equipment in the field.
- Coordinate new product field trials and document results including any opportunities for product enhancement.
- Collate field data and evidence for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for major failures and unresolved reliability issues.
- Engage with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to offer solutions for customer needs.
