Principal Planning Engineer
PERSOL is partnering with a leading energy company to recruit a Principal Planning Engineer. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Bentley.
As a technical expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the energy landscape, leveraging your deep technical knowledge to develop advanced standards and solve complex power system challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the creation and implementation of technical rules and planning standards.
- Provide authoritative technical guidance to engineering, legal, commercial, and operations teams.
- Tackle complex challenges related to renewable integration, consumer energy resources, and battery storage.
- Mentor and support planning engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with industry bodies and stakeholders to influence best practices.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring consistency with technical standards, regulatory requirements,
and innovation objectives.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, with Chartered status considered highly desirable.
- Significant experience in power system planning, technical documentation, and use of modelling tools such as PowerFactory.
- Demonstrated expertise in renewables, battery systems, and consumer energy resources.
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on clear and precise technical documentation.
- Robust collaborative approach, capable of building trust and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven project management capability, balancing deep technical knowledge with strategic oversight.
