We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee the hotel’s end-to-end purchasing function, lead our receiving dock and stock operations, and work closely with department heads to drive efficiency, compliance and commercial value.
This is both a strategic and hands-on mid-level management role, integral to the hotel's smooth, seamless operation.
The Role
As Purchasing Manager, you will oversee all procurement activity, supplier relationships, contracts, stock control, and the receiving dock. You will partner closely with department heads, manage budgets and reporting, and champion accuracy, compliance, and cost efficiency across the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all purchasing activity and implement best-practice procurement processes.
- Source, negotiate and manage supplier contracts, pricing and performance, while building strong vendor relationships.
- Lead the purchasing and dock team, ensuring accurate receiving, stock control, system integrity and monthly stocktakes.
- Coordinate purchasing and inventory requirements with all departments,
ensuring timely ordering and efficient stock movement.
- Maintain POS and stock systems, resolving discrepancies and ensuring compliance with food safety, WHS and audit standards.
- Drive sustainability initiatives and deliver cost analysis, reporting and ongoing process improvements.
About you
You are organised, commercially minded and calm under pressure. You enjoy structure, problem-solving, and building strong relationships.
- 3–5+ years purchasing/procurement experience (hotel or hospitality preferred).
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Competent computing skills and familiarity with procurement and inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
- A proactive, detail-focused approach and commitment to safety.
- Existing working rights in Australia.
