You’ll be working in our Future Homes program, a supportive accommodation service for men who are ready to rebuild and look ahead. Future Homes is a place where our residents can pause, breathe and start shaping their next chapter with the right support around them.

As an engagement worker, you will be providing a mix of practical and personalised guidance, from wellbeing support to referrals that strengthen health, stability, and confidence. It’s all about creating a safe, welcoming space where small steps turn into real momentum.

You’ll be part of team that helps residents engage int their own recovery plan, connect with the services they need, and move toward long term change. Its meaningful work with plenty of moments that remind you why you do what you do.

What you will be doing:

- Be a welcoming presence to our residents, providing guidance, support and a listening ear.

- Build real, meaningful relationships that help clients discover what’s possible.

- Work alongside our Senior Engagement Workers to link clients with the supports and tackle challenges together.

- Bring recovery-focused, trauma-informed care into every interaction.

- Contribute to a team culture that’s positive, collaborative and genuinely caring.

Your application will go to the top of our shortlist you have:

- Qualifications in community services or related. Alternatively, you could be a Uni student in a relevant field with a placement.

- Solutions focussed, empathetic and able to uplift those around you

- Confident in navigating community services to connect clients with the right help

- A natural gift with building trust, rapport, and meaningful engagement

- Knowledgeable about wellness and trauma informed, person centred care





- Creative and resourceful… You find ways to make things happen and solve problems

What’s in it for you?

- Pay: Competitive salary, plus NFP salary packaging giving you the potential to gain $15,900 in tax benefits.

- Leave: 28 days annual leave, that’s 3 days more than the standard 5 weeks

- Hours & Roster: 38 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday -Tuesday 7:00 am-3:00 pm, Wednesday to Friday 2:30 pm-10:30 pm

About Us

For 60 years, St Bart’s has supported people experiencing homelessness and severe and persistent mental health issues as they rebuild their lives. We started as a small homeless shelter for men and have grown into a progressive and inclusive organisation providing support to hundreds of Western Australian men, women and families across four key service areas. Our goal is to provide secure, supported accommodation and services to people who need it the most, regardless of background, age, gender or ethnicity.
