Diabetes Nurse Educator - Clinical Nurse Consultant
Ongoing, Part Time - 48 Hours per Fortnight
About the Opportunity
Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is seeking a passionate and dedicated Diabetes Nurse Educator to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise within a world-leading cancer centre known for excellence in patient care, research, and innovation.
In this specialised role, you will support patients living with or newly diagnosed with diabetes, ensuring they receive the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to manage their condition effectively. You will work across both inpatient and outpatient settings, making a meaningful difference to patient outcomes during some of the most important moments of their lives.
What You'll Be Doing
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and responsive diabetes nurse education. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing individualised diabetes self-management education to patients and carers across inpatient wards and outpatient programs.
• Acting as an expert clinical resource—offering guidance, support, and best-practice knowledge to patients, nurses, and broader clinical teams across Peter Mac.
• Collaborating closely with clinicians and allied health professionals to deliver flexible, patient-centred care that responds to diverse needs in a dynamic clinical environment.
This role is well-suited to a motivated clinician who thrives in a team-oriented setting and is committed to empowering patients through education.
