- $1,298.72 (working towards qualification) or $1,339.96 (fully qualified) gross per 38 hour week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- Permanent Full time position based at our Principal Depot in Charlton.
- Rostered Day off each month.
About the position
The Working at Heights Arborist position will be responsible for the maintenance of tree assets within the Region using recognised arboricultural practices.
This position will work under remote supervision.
Toowoomba Regional Council wants to support the next generation of Arborists.
For this reason, we are accepting applications from people who have a recognised certificate in Arboriculture or Horticulture as well as applications from people who are currently completing a relevant certificate.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria
Hold the mandatory qualification(s), training and/or experience, as outlined under the 'Success Criteria' in the Position Description.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise skills in a more complex area or to a more advanced degree than trade level.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain plant / machinery, and carry out daily services.
- The ability to ensure all work is performed to meet safety legislative requirements and responsibilities of Council.
- Ability to effectively lead, motivate, administer and manage a team to meet agreed performance and service standards.
- Demonstrated ability to understand directions and to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner.
- Ability to perform physical labouring tasks.
- Understanding of and commitment to Council’s Organisational Value and Behaviour of Accountability.
