Rydges South Bank is a highly-regarded 4.5 star, award-winning hotel boasting 304 rooms and suites, multiple food and beverage outlets, and conferencing facilities. The hotel is located on Grey Street in South Bank neighbouring the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
About the Role
We’re searching for a motivated and reliable Houseperson to support our Housekeeping team at Rydges South Bank Brisbane.
This hands-on role is essential to the smooth operation of the hotel and plays a key part in maintaining our high standards across both guest-facing and back-of-house areas.
This position generally works 2:00pm–10:00pm, supporting afternoon and evening operations when housekeeping and guest service needs are at their peak. If you enjoy working in a rapid-paced environment and take pride in keeping spaces clean, organised, and welcoming, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all back-of-house areas
• Replenish guest supplies and linen to floor storerooms
• Collect and deliver dry cleaning and guest items to and from rooms
• Remove soiled linen and rubbish from working floors and transport to correct collection points
• Deliver and store roll-aways and cots safely and efficiently
• Log lost property and follow correct procedures
• Communicate guest requests or concerns to supervisors
• Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment safely and correctly
• Complete daily assigned tasks, opening and closing duties
• Assist other departments when required
Skills & Experience
• Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is desirable but not essential
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• Reliable, organised and able to work autonomously
• Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks
• A positive, helpful, and courteous attitude
• Understanding of hygiene, safety and PPE requirements
