Inspire Early Learning: Early Learning Teacher Opportunity at Launceston Church Grammar School
Launceston Church Grammar School is an Anglican co-educational day and boarding school in northern Tasmania, renowned for excellence in education and a warm, inclusive community. Our Early Learning Centre provides a nurturing, play-based setting grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP).
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Learning Teacher to join our Junior Campus Early Learning Centre. Full-time and part-time applications are encouraged.
About the Role
As an Early Childhood Teacher at LCGS, you will create rich, inquiry-driven learning experiences that foster curiosity, creativity and holistic development for children aged 3–5. Your practice will be informed by the EYLF, NQF, and IB PYP early years philosophy, supporting children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth.
In this role, you will:
- Plan and deliver high-quality learning programs aligned with the EYLF, NQS and relevant curriculum frameworks
- Foster children’s agency, autonomy and engagement through intentional teaching and play-based learning
- Document and assess learning in partnership with co-educators
- Ensure a safe, healthy and stimulating environment that supports wellbeing and meets all regulatory obligations
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Collaborate with early learning staff to support transitions, family engagement and community partnerships
- Uphold high standards of practice aligned with AITSL Teacher Standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement through reflective practice and professional learning
- Support the philosophy, policies and culture of the Early Learning Centre and wider School
About You
We are seeking an energetic, warm and reflective educator who demonstrates:
- Strong knowledge of child development for ages 3–5, including supporting diverse learners
- Understanding of the EYLF, NQS and relevant regulations
- Ability to design engaging, play-based and inquiry-led learning experiences
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build nurturing, respectful relationships
- Commitment to collaborative team practice and ongoing professional growth
- Alignment with the School’s Child Safety policies and Anglican ethos
- Experience in IB PYP early years settings (highly regarded)
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
- Current or eligible registration with the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board.
- Working with Vulnerable People (Tasmania) registration.
- HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting.
- Commitment to child safety and safeguarding requirements, including mandatory reporting obligations.
