We are located in Turrella, close to three Train Stations; Turrella, Arncliffe & Wolli Creek.

We are seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team that is passionate about delivering high performance.

**About the role**:

- We're looking for an experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team on a permanent full-time basis (Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm with a 1pm finish on Friday).
- $78,000 - $85,000 per year.
- In this hands-on role, you will be manufacturing custom steel work and parts for industrial roller shutter doors and their ancillary equipment, including brackets, posts, gusset plates, guides, bottom rails, splays, rollers including axels and bars for wicket gates.

**What You'll Be Doing**:
A Metal Fabricator ensures all components, pieces and parts are manufactured to a high standard to allow the safe and successful installation of the finished roller shutter door product on site. Your role will include:

- Accurate welding, grinding, cutting and finishing of parts/components to allow for streamlined and correct installation of roller shutter doors by technicians & installers on site.
- Reading and understanding technical drawings & specifications to assess task requirements to translate into the physical manufacture of parts.
- Rigorous quality control measures, including assessing raw materials for faults and damage that may affect the manufacturing process and/or finished product,



and inspecting finished parts & components for accuracy with the use of measuring guides and instruments.
- Ensure WHS compliance and working in a safe, responsible manner.

**Equipment You'll Work With**:

- MIG, TIG and STICK welding.
- Oxy-cutter, bandsaw and grinder.
- Pneumatic (air) tools, such as die-grinders and nail guns.
- Range of drills, such as drill press, pistol drill and radial drill.
- Hand tools, such as hammers, chisels and files.
- Measurement instruments, such as squares, rulers and protractors to mark out dimensions onto materials as per technical drawings.
- Overhead crane.
- Material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, strapping machines).

**What We're Looking For**:

- Extremely competent welding skills.
- Strong ability to use relevant cutting tools, and pneumatic tools, drills and hand tools to accurately manufacture exact parts & components for roller shutter doors.
- Strong understanding and ability to read and understand technical drawings and translate information onto materials in preparation for manufacturing.
- Ability to differentiate between different material types, thicknesses and coatings of raw materials.
- Consistently implement quality control measures throughout all stages of manufacturing process.
- Ability to dismantle and assemble equipment with ease.
- Strong multi-tasking skills to manage and meet workload requirements.




- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong fault-finding skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Legible handwriting skills.
- Neat and clean appearance, and a punctual and reliable team member.
- Self-starter and ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Strong understanding of WHS requirements, and consistently implements them into daily tasks.

**Minimum Qualification Requirements**:

- Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade, or
- Engineering Tradesperson (Fabrication), or
- Similar.
- Minimum two years relevant industry experience.
- A current Drivers licence and Forklift licence is not necessary but preferred.
