**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled **Private English Tutor / English Language Teacher** to deliver specialised English teaching services to non-English-speaking learners, including those preparing for academic study, IELTS examinations, or migration pathways.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Language Assessment & Diagnostic Teaching**
- Assess learners’ English proficiency levels, identify key language difficulties, and develop targeted learning plans.

**2. Individual & Small Group Instruction**
- Conduct personalised 1:1 tutoring sessions and small-group classes (3-6 students).
- Provide tailored instruction for Mandarin-speaking learners aiming to study abroad or meet migration language requirements.

**3. Curriculum Design & Adaptation**
- Design full lesson plans including listening, reading, vocabulary, grammar, and speaking tasks.
- Develop and adapt teaching materials based on learner level and learning objectives.

**4. IELTS Test Preparation Specialist**
- Teach IELTS exam strategies including but not limited to：
- True/False/Not Given
- Reading matching / sentence completion
- Listening signals / keyword prediction
- Conduct mock tests, analyse results, and train students in test-taking strategies.

**5. Student Assessment & Written Feedback**
- Review students’ assignments and provide detailed feedback.
- Track progress, adjust learning plans, and document learning outcomes.

**6. Classroom Management & Learning Activities**
- Facilitate group discussions, role-play tasks, debates, interactive listening practice, gallery walks,



and peer feedback sessions.

**7. Professional Development**
- Stay updated with TESOL and IELTS teaching methodologies.
- Integrate new techniques and maintain skilled teaching standards.

**Skills & Experience Required**

**Essential**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in TESOL, Linguistics, English, Education, or related field
- Minimum **3+ years English teaching or tutoring experience**:

- Experience in exam preparation (IELTS highly preferred)
- Proven ability to plan detailed lessons and adapt curriculum
- Strong understanding of English grammar, reading comprehension methods, and listening techniques
- Experience teaching learners from non-English-speaking backgrounds

**Desirable**
- TESOL/TEFL/CELTA qualification
- Experience in preparing specialised materials (handouts, slides, assessments)
- Strong communication and classroom facilitation skills
- Ability to handle advanced students preparing for high-stakes examinations

**Salary**

**A$80,000 - A$90,000 + super**
