ABOUT THE ROLE:

Hotel Rose Bay is looking for an experienced and skilled Cook to join the kitchen team who is capable of preparing meals to the highest standards and with experience in a range of culinary styles and techniques.

As a Cook at Hotel Rose Bay, you will be responsible for:

- Assisting the chefs in all aspects of food preparation, production & plating
- Helping to set up workstations with the required ingredients & equipment
- Preparing, seasoning & cooking the menu items as per recipe requirements & in accordance with the hotel standards
- Assisting with plate presentation, portioning food according to requirements & dressing final dishes with sauces/garnishes etc.
- Maintaining strict WHS standards & ensuring all work areas are hygienic & that the kitchen is thoroughly cleaned at the end of each shift
- Complying with all food safety,



HACCP & food storage requirements
- Appropriate use of various kitchen utensils, equipment & materials as needed
- Checking the quality of ingredients & food products
- Assisting with deliveries & food requirements
- Assisting with the training & development of kitchen hands & junior staff

Full-Time Salary: $75,000-$80,000

ABOUT YOU:

To be considered for the Cook role at Hotel Rose Bay, you will need:

- appropriate trade qualifications (e.g. Cert III / Cert IV)
- at least 2+ years' experience at a minimum Cook level
- experience working in a similar style restaurant/hotel venue
- experience working across a variety of different kitchen sections
- demonstrated experience with a wide range of culinary techniques & processes
- knowledge of & experience with all standard kitchen equipment & utensils
- excellent communication sills
- cooperation skills & the ability to work well as part of a large kitchen team
- ability to take directions & instructions from senior chefs
- a commitment to producing an excellent product at all times
- a desire to cook delicious food
- a passion for cooking
- a robust understanding of WHS, food safety & hygiene requirements in the kitchen
- experience training/leading junior kitchen staff
- creativity & innovation in the kitchen
