Saltmine Fish & Chips is a fast-growing, high-volume takeaway shop in Port Stephens. We’re looking for a reliable and skilled Cook to join our team full-time and take responsibility for kitchen operations, prep, and service during busy periods.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for:

Preparing, seasoning and cooking seafood, burgers, chips, and other menu items

Managing fryers, grills, and food-preparation equipment

Ensuring food quality, timing, and presentation

Maintaining FIFO stock rotation and daily prep lists

Overseeing food safety, hygiene, and cleaning standards

Training junior staff in safe and efficient cooking procedures

Assisting with ordering, inventory, and kitchen organisation

What We’re Looking For

Experience as a Cook, Fry Cook, or similar kitchen role





Ability to work in a fast-paced setting

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Reliability and consistency (non-negotiable)

Availability across weekdays and weekends

Someone who takes pride in their work and wants stable, full-time hours

What We Offer

$35-40 per hour (depending on experience)

20–40 hours per week

A supportive team with room to grow

Consistent year-round work and even more hours during summer
