Job Description

1. Job Description: VeiraMal Consulting is seeking applicants for Dairy Farmers, Agricultural Technicians, Animal Husbandry Technicians, Senior Dairy Cattle Farm Operators and Dairy Cattle Farm Operators to join our client’s business Cooriemungle Ag Unit Trust, located in Regional Victoria. Our client is looking for enthusiastic individuals who can work well in a team, with strong communication skills. Positions Available: Dairy Farm Positions

1. Dairy Farmers: Applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant experience. 2. Agricultural Technicians:Applicants must have at least a Diploma or 3 years of relevant experience. 3. Animal Husbandry Technicians: Applicants must have at least a Diploma or 3 years of relevant experience.

4. Senior Dairy Farm Operator:

- Applicants must have at least a relevant AQF Certificate III (or equivalent) and
- At least two years of recent and relevant work experience or
- At least five (5) years of second and relevant work experience.

5. Dairy Cattle Farm Operator

- Applicants must have at least a relevant AQF certificate II or III (or equivalent) or
- At least one (1) year full-time relevant and recent work experience.

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

- Hardworking, Resourceful, Trustworthy, Loyal, Efficient
- Must have previous experience in the dairy industry
- Previous employment in a similar role
- Good understanding of basic Dairy Farm Management
- Ability to diagnose common health issues
- Demonstrate a broad and coherent body of knowledge of milk source and composition
- Identify the impact of the dairy shed and dairy facilities to determine the acceptability of dairy products by consumers.
- Must be able to perform general farming duties
- Able to perform physical labour and be part of a team.

Duties for Animal Husbandry Technicians:

- Manage the feeding program for springing cows
- Inspecting and monitoring growth rates against targets
- Nutrient Management Plans
- Mixing quality of urea mineral supplements and other appropriate animal husbandry
- Organise milking program for milker 2-year-olds
- Apply heat detection aids, identify, record, mark and draft own cows as heat, segregate and prepare for insemination.

Duties for Senior Dairy Cattle Farm Operators:

- Plan all aspects of milk production processes including management and coordination of milking shed routines
- Assist in controlled mating of cows, detection of estrous and fertility management,



detection of oestrus and pregnancy
- Assist in artificial insemination and herd fertility
- Supervise study or artificial insemination programs
- Plan and manage pasture and crops used for cattle production
- Implement and monitor quality assurance schemes
- Follow and implement policies of the Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines – Cattle.

Duties for Dairy Cattle Farm Operators:

- Undertake and assist with milking operations in a Milk Vat temperature and cow comfort
- Operate milking plant and equipment
- Operate farm and machinery
- Undertake general farming duties
- Undertake other duties related to dairy farming systems such as machine repair, artificial insemination, fertiliser mix design etc.
